Co-parenting is very important when you become a single mother. Have you taken the necessary steps to co-parent with your ex? With good co-parenting your child has the opportunity to love and enjoy both parents as well as get the support and guidance they need from both. It may be not be possible to co-parent due to abusive or dangerous situations, however, if it is possible it is best for your child/children.

Depending on your situation you must find a balance that works for both of you and your child/children. Communication is key for establishing an amicable schedule that allows both of you to have time with the child/children, share responsibilities, and help your child/children  to have a healthy and happy upbringing.

You may even find that in time you are able to share this time together which is a bonus for your child regardless of your separation/situation. For your support Single Mothers in Progress can assist you with making this possible for your family.
